GTC provides ongoing mentorship, academic guidance, financial aid check-ins, and emotional support to ensure students not only attend college—but thrive and graduate.
Get Through College (GTC) Program supports 100 Black San Francisco students in successfully transitioning into and completing 2 and 4 years of college with a focus on San Francisco City College, San Francisco State University and Historical Black Colleges.
GTC is designed for Black students from inner-city communities who are committed to succeeding in college or other post-secondary programs. We support scholars facing socio-economic hardships by providing them with the tools, mentorship, and community they need to thrive
4 scholars graduated from HBCUs
33 scholars attend 17 HBCUs, which makes up ⅓ of the program
Students in GTC successfully matriculate and graduate from their respective colleges or post-secondary programs.
Students experience increased self-confidence, resilience, and academic performance due to the holistic support system we provide.
GTC’s focus on emotional well-being, academic success, and career readiness prepares students for long-term success in their professional careers.

1. Culturally Responsive College Coaches
Our team consists of experienced professionals in the marketing industry. Our team members bring their knowledge and expertise to the table to ensure that every project we work on is a success.
2. Peer-to-Peer Support Through College Ambassadors
GTC pairs each scholar with a college ambassador who has faced similar challenges and successfully navigated them. This peer-to-peer support system creates a safe and understanding space for scholars to connect with someone who can offer practical advice and emotional support. Ambassadors help foster a sense of belonging, guiding students through the ups and downs of their college experience with shared experiences and empathy.
3. Monthly Virtual Workshops
Understanding the financial challenges of attending college, GTC offers financial literacy workshops that equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances responsibly. Students learn how to budget, understand credit, and create a personalized plan to graduate with minimal debt, ensuring they have the financial tools to succeed both in and after college.
